I totally understand why you're down but we are all here cheering you on and one day you will be debt free and be able to sit back and lounge and think of exactly what you've achieved - of course you won't be lounging cos you'll be working on the mortgage then but you know what I mean!

    Long time lurker alert...

If you're inadequate, God knows what that makes me!

I read yours and Benben's diaries without fail as you both inspire me in a big way but I find it hard to kick myself into gear.

But, today I joined dooyoo, all because I keep reading about you posting your reviews. I have also joined butlins and virgin and started scratching. Also, thanks to you.

You're bound to have low moments but instead of looking at the debt total remaining, why don't you try focusing for a while on how much you've paid off, as that's a bigger figure than what's left IFSWIM?

Feel free to ignore me if I'm talking out of my backside. Everyone at home does :rotfl: (ignore me I mean, not talk out of their backsides, er... actually...)

I'll second that - word for word! (and there's probably 1000's more like us).
You just need some downtime, then deep breath and carry on.
You're SO on the other side of the mountain :) :T

Sorry you're feel so low Hypno.

Take some time out - do whatever it is that floats your boat - candles, bubble bath, music, whatever - but do it regularly even if only short bursts.

You have come a long, long way - but still have a way to go - and you will burn yourself outand make yourself ill before you get there at this rate. Be kind to yourself - just like you are to others. Remember a poorly Hypno won't be busting no debts:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'd stay with your dream of the house but tempted to try and put the Mfit challenge on a back burner till you have become DF. Those figures you have brought down to reasonable levels seem VERY big again once you start thinking mortgage free too. Just something I'd noticed as an observer. One day Hypno, though maybe not today ;)

Wish I was as inadequate as you lol!!

Positive vibes being sent your way - you've given me enough - pay back time:D:D

  • What lovely posts yesterday evening. Hypno, I hope you slept well. I guess it will take a few more days of early nights to catch up with yourself. I'll not add to the suggestions to help you care for yourself, just hope that you find something in all the goodwill - or just the goodwill itself - that helps you keep well.

I was chatting to friends the other night and we said how odd it was that we all needed reminding on a regular basis that life is more about right now than our projecting into a largely unknown future. You can guess this conversation followed the funeral (of a friend aged 58).

So, here's to TODAY. May everyone have a peaceful, happy day... we've decided that wish shouldn't just apply to Christmas :p  :D

Morning all, and thanks again for the nice, common sense stuff you said.

Scratchcards gave me 10p again today, and £10 has arrived in my bank account so has been transferred to the barclayloan offset.

Barclays online banking was down but I will check that when I get to work - other than that, all in order I think.

Hope you all have a good day - TFI Friday :D

I just want to echo what everyone else says (another lurker I'm afraid).
You are absolutely amazing, without fail I read your diary everyday (and have done on and off since I 'discovered' you here about 2 years ago.) as you are truely an inspiration to me. You do more in a week that I get done in a year!
I hope everyones kind words help and that you can find your way through this.
