Having been called into work last night (unpaid, remember) because the fire alarm was going off......OH has just got home  And he is due back there at 5pm.......

If that isn't a good enough reason to sit down and discuss pay, I don't know what is!!

DD and I are going to have an ebay listing session for a couple of hours this evening......., between when I drop OH back at work and when I pick the students up at 8pm.....

Me thinks his works is taking the pi$$! Have you kept a diary of how many un paid hours he's worked? Could prove useful to do so. Better off having the money in your pockets than anybody elses.

He's been working there almost a year and they have been taking the p for most of that time. I think he is getting to the point that if they do not come to a suitable arrangement, he will seriously look for something else. Quite what, I am not sure, but it really is getting ridiculous. His "actual" hourly rate is pathetic.

Is it the charity job that your OH wanted to do? In my book charity starts at home especially when every penny is being watched.

Yes, it is the charity job......and that is my opinion too..... Charity is all very well and humbling, but when the rest of the time we are doing surveys, reviews and scratchcards to bring the money in, we could do with a "proper" salary.....

Anyway...went to Sainsburys for a change this afternoon, and made the most of their BOGOFs so did a good top up shop with some excellent meat offers for next week too. Also used £7.50 of Nectar points off the bill - I use clubcard vouchers for "deals" so don't feel bad about using my nectar points for money off shopping.....

Well done on the shopping. I am sure you and OH will get it sorted and come up with some sort of plan of action on how to tackle OHs work. Have a look at the working time directive, sure it will come up if you google it.
