We came home.....OH still feeling rough, and once we had loaded the car, we just wanted to get on with it....so we did!

The latest student cheque was waiting for me - £195 gratefully received.....I will see if I can nip into the bank today and pay it in, otherwise it will get done on Monday.

There is a house I would definitely go and look at if we were debt free, in today's paper...... It is a house DS delivers to on his paper round, so I have had opportunity to be nosy a bit, from time to time. It is on the market at a very reasonable price......bah!!!!!!

Did a dooyoo review this morning - will see if I can do another couple in the course of the day and get a few more pennies towards debt free and able to house hunt :o

One of the things that I have been openly criticised for, is that we spend a lot of money on skiing and school trips. This is important to us. It is not the fault of the children that we got into this situation, and I feel very strongly that they get opportunities without being spoilt. We have been faced with people who say we shouldn't be spending money on these things, yet these same people don't perhaps realise that our children don't have games consoles, or watch Sky because we don't have it. They don't realise that our children are happy to sacrifice every single Christmas present and birthday present, from everyone, not just from us, in order that they can go and ski, or go to China....that our children are happy to get up early every single day to do paper-rounds, come rain or shine, to earn their own money to contribute and to save up for their own things, are happy to share their home, even their room, with paying foreign students. Our children are far from spoilt, but I understand why people might think that they are....those people are welcome to come and spend time with us and see the real hypno family!

And this is precisely why your children will grow up to be well-rounded individuals, who appreciate the value of money and the work that needs to go into earning it, will not expect the world to owe them a living, will get off their backsides to make something of themselves, making you and DH very proud in the process, will be polite and respectful of others' property, and will not spend their later teenage years hanging round on street corners, drunk, getting into mischief, and making life a misery for everyone else!

How many of the people who criticise you for the way you bring up your family will be able to say the same thing in 5 - 10 years time?

You carry on doing just what you're doing Hypno - those that criticise have missed the point big style!
