Mooching through the property websites, as you do.....I came across this one

It is the house my parents owned when I was a teenager, and the house from where I got married.....

We didn't go so overboard on the chintz and frills as the current owners.....

Not really - it was cold, draughty, had a leaking septic tank, and spiders the size of small cattle......my bedroom was the big pale blue one, and the critters hid in the beams and came out just before bedtime.......:rotfl:

And the garden is titchy......and what they call the "garden room" is in fact what we called "the porch" :rotfl:

I love Estate Agent speak. House I lived in as a student had a very overgrown garden estate agent came round to put it up for sale I asked him how he was going to describe garden he said "natural" :D

Sorry to hear about Mr Hypno my OH has a bad cold and migraine for the last 3 days but seems to be improving this pm.

Been catching up on your diary I love crazy golf and last time I played it I was in centre parcs at Elveden 19 years ago. Went back to Ventnor on the Isle of Wight some years ago and enquired about the crazy golf course I used to play on as a child and they said that went about 20 years ago :eek:so glad to hear Elveden still has one.

Definitely think you deserved crown for smear review:rotfl:

Sorry mr DT is not feeling well either but good to read that he is on the road to recovery.

I don't think the crazy golf has changed in the 19 years since you last played......I lost way back then too

And you **know** what I think about that :eek::eek:

Mind you, the house I was staying in in France had beams like that. For the first few nights, my sister rigged up a mosquito net for me - I boiled to death the first night, so then I used it as a canopy, which was a bit better - as she said, at least stuff wasn't falling on my face :eek::eek:

I'm sorry to hear how ill the OH is, Hypno - DT too. Horrible to be ill on holiday. Oh, as I was ... maybe they've got what I had ... I hope not!

We're avoiding the getting sick whilst on holiday by having it now Three weeks before we go away. Still bloody miserable with it though. I rarely catch stuff and this bug is evil. I wouldn't mind so much but I've been working so many hours I'm almost a hermit so goodness knows how the bugs crept in !

Glad you're having a good relax Hypno. Change is as good as a rest-which is just as well cos you have NO idea how to REST !! :)

Hope OH is feeling better soon

  • Sorry to read about illness on holiday. Hope OH gets better soon. Hope you all get a chance to rest and recharge for the busy times ahead.

Great news about Egg. I've just paid £600 into savings this month. At the beginning of the year I set myself a target to save £5,000 this year. I'm at £4,250 already and that's thanks to Hypno's threads. THANK YOU :D

I wonder what the Estate Agent thinks about the number of hits on the details of Hypno's old family home... bet they think they'll be selling this one in the next few days :o

    Have a good day everyone.
