vodaphone confusion!!

i have put my son on an 18 month contract with vodafone (big mistake) - the charge is around £25 per month and for this he gets 250 texts messages (ithink) and stop the clock. I'm having problems keeping track of his spending on the phone and have had 2 bills for £80 this month - im not very 'mobile-literate' and he has problems keeping track of where he is up to - for instance when we phone up and see what the present charges are - were quoted and 'unbilled amount' of say £20 (dont know what un billed means) and then we go onto the website and there is an £80 bill going to be sent at the end of the month. I have had to take his phone off him as i cant afford the £80 monthly and vodafone have said all they can do is block all out going calls and texts or i can cancell my contract (which ends in feb 07) and they will charge me £250 - im at a loss as i dont understand the way they are billing me and dont want him to be without a phone as he has learning difficulties - any suggestions (in words of one sylable if possible!!!!) very very welcome!

Explain this to Vodafone again and ask if they can capp unbilled usage at a set figure IE £25 (191 from the mobile) and see what they suggest - if not happy with the response I'd suggest getting a Prepaid sim and keep the contract for yourself (I'm sure you'd use it responsibly)to text call your son and day to day use ,be sure to buy the prepaid sim on Vodafone to keep your costs down.
