Airport? What's an airport got to do with it??

There have been cases of people being stopped from boarding flights as they are deemed to be importing or exporting fake goods. Italy used to have a real problem with ladies being stopped and refused boarding as they were carrying a look alike bag. There was also a famous case of a man with a fake branded briefcase who was actually arrested in Rome airport.

Ahhh, i've re read this, and Fay, its looks like you are calling the OP fake, not the bag.
OP, Fay is trying to say she is assuming the bag is fake, and you are too (as you seem to be)

    Um, no !
So assuming it's fake... as you seem to be [assuming]?

Strange, I wonder how they would determine if it was real or fake?

three years ago I stumbled across a real LV handbag in a £1 bargain basket in a charity shop. The original LV shop tags had been stored in one of the pockets. Shops do make mistakes. Back then I was able to sell it on ebay with not much problem but now its more difficult to make a profit.
    Whether we win or lose,
that we played at all was a winning decision. :D
    2011 wins £12,292
    2012 wins ...
Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A

OP, you need to use a decent camera that can take clear close-ups and post pics on the following forum in accordance with their instructions:

    http://forum.purseblog.com/louis-vuitton-shopping/authenticate-louis-vuitton-please-read-rules-use-format-476276.html

You will get an expert, impartial opinion.

If the bag should turn out to be a fake, it is a criminal offence to sell it and it's not acceptable to list it on eBay even if you don't claim it's authentic - if it gets reported eBay would remove the listing, and there are enthusiasts who check their favourite designer names for fakes.

I don't think they were just ordinary staff doing the spot checks, I can't find any google reference to it as I can't think of a logical search request, but I recall that they would send teams of experts in that deal with smuggling and pirating. So if you happened to pass through on a day when the team, were prowling you were caught, if it wasn't a spot check day you were fine.

    Hi
I was always told that the way to spot a real from a fake is to do with the print. A real Louis Vuitton bag will never cut the LV logo in half (along a seam or edge for example). A real one never has the LV along the edge. Have seen a few fakes and they all seemed to have a cut off logo here and there. Good luck (either way, you got a bargain!)
