Looks fine to me, especially as you get to visit your sis in KL.
  • we did the same type of hoilday a few years ago, your budget should be fine. We flew with Thail Airways & they were amazing. However we stayed in a hotel called Cape Pawna in Puket, wouldnt recommend it, to be honest wouldnt recommend Puket at all, Koi Samui & Phi Phi much nicer, we did go 7 years ago though!

Its £503 for the flight only plus £383 for the 8 nights accomodation in phuket so £1389 in total for 2 people. Flight goes outon the 3rd oct and returns on the 24th so we're flexible for the rest of the trip. Do you reckon it's an ok deal bearing in mind it's glasgow through to phuket? The hotel looks fab and includes breakfast.

Don't know about your accommodation. It's quite close to the airport, though I'm sure they wouldn't build a resort directly under the flight path.

I know it's near to the airport but trust me, i've read stacks of reviews on tripadvisor and everyone who mentioned it said it wasn't a problem. Most tripadvisors were raving about it, I think you either love or hate the hotel architecture, I think i'll love it.

Have you been to Vietnam? looking to do 4 days there, most probably Ho Chi Minh, any advice or ideas anyone?

I disagree with you about Phuket. We had a fab holiday there albeit it was 10 years ago. It's a lovely island with lots to do. I suppose you have to try and stay away from the sleaze unless that's what your looking for! We had our 9 yr old with us and he had a ball. We didn't stay in Patong and i'm glad about that! We were in Kata which is further south. One of the most memorable holiday trips ever was by boat/canoe round Phang Nga Bay, absolutely magical!
