How can I leave Virgin Media?

Hi,
I signed a new 12 month contract with Virgin Media in April (actually I haven't signed anything as I never sent it back...) using the Quidco site to reduce costs, but shortly after signing up I was signed off and I still am as my health isn't improving.
Although I'm on ESA and housing benefit I'm really struggling to manage my finances, and can no longer afford to pay my ever increasing Virgin Media bills. Their call costs are so expensive, especially to 0870 and 0845 numbers.
I've spoken with their debt team today and all they could offer me was to stop outgoing calls and place me on a payment plan to clear the bill, but this doesn't really solve anything. Is there a way to get out of my contract other than pay the £120 fee? Don't think they'd alter the package as I've not been there 6 months yet.
I'm really struggling to manage all of the stress and worry that my finances are causing me. Not good at all.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

I dont see how you can get out of contract but you could cut the cost of your non inclusive calls by using http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via their 0808 Freephone Number.0

Well I thought I'd give them another ring and see if I could find someone more sympathetic. And I did.
He put me onto the all call's inclusive package for 12 months for free, so other than 0845/0870 numbers (which I now try to avoid!) my bills should be brought back down to £25pm which is a lot more manageable.
Thanks for your help though!0 -
use the website 'Say no to 0870'. You just input the 0870 number and it brings up a cheaper alternative x
