Ewww I have webbles (sp?) in my bread flour, typical the flour that I didnt have sealed in a box  That will teach me! I need to use some of the supplies and have a list of things to make tommorow. Anyway, does anyone know how long you can keep homemade jam for? I dont want to make jam if it only last a few months. I guess you can give it a year or so? Is that right?
I still have strawberry jam from last June. It's absolutely fine. I store in a cool dark place. Am now repleneshing stock with berries picked from the garden.
Make sure the jars & lids are sterilised properly and I always use the little waxed disks.

    Oh Scorgy, that's horrible...
Hey Toto-my DH gets hassle entering the states every time he goes (which is a lot) because there's a man on the FBIs most wanted list, with not only the same name, but the same DOB!!! Believe he's wanted in connection with the Oklahoma bombing, so every time they pump his name and DOB into their Immigration computers they think they've hit the jackpot!! He ended up getting BA's lawyers to write to US state dept (I think) and now he carries a letter from them confirming he ISN'T the wanted man.....still a PITA though....

And the Americans think that someone on their most-wanted list is going to sail into an airport using his real name and date of birth on a forged foreign passport while disguised up to the nines so he doesn't look like himself...

She got told that everything's ok but she still feels like there's something in her throat and her chest hurts when she coughs so she's asking for more tests.

I'm sure there's some smokers/ex-smokers on here somewhere. Am I being unfair accusing her of putting the cigs above her family by not trying to quit completely? She's cut down a lot, she used to smoke 20 a day and now she only smokes about 3, and that's great. But she knows the gum has the same effect, no matter how horrible it tastes, she's said that herself. Why can't she just have that instead of the 3? She says a non-smoker wouldn't get it.

    She's a drug addict. That's what you're not getting...

Thanks for you help RM, last year I dont think I did it right hence why my first ever batch lasted two months. However saying that we only wasted about a 1/4 of a branstons jar. How can I sterilise them? Can I just put them in some cheap Milton? We will be using kiln jars this year... will they be ok? Last year I made rasberry jam... this year I am trying rasberry and apple jam and then marmalade :D

Just waiting for my bread to beep just now... smells amazing :T

Thanks Inky. I know I'm not the easiest to live with, I am an only child so I still have only child syndrome at 37, and I am a bit of, well actually, I used to be a bit of live wire, no I've had all my little flames extinguished thanks to living the Colin the great controller (colin isn't really his name, but it begins with a C).

    Does it rhyme with punt?

I sometimes get the feeling that I am being caged in and I don't like it. Is it just me or has anyone else felt this way, or am I just being a spoilt child again?

How come I am the only person who lets my partner at the time go whereever they want? Starting to think I'm strange. Or maybe I just have too much of that "trust" thing...
