Vodafone upgrade deal? or no deal?!

I spoke to vodafone disconnections yesterday, and got what I thought was quite a good deal on renewing my contract. A Sharp gx29 75 mins 100 texts £16 per month. I would have preferred the Sony Erikson v600, and on checking vodafone website, I could have had the same deal with that phone. I tried to change my order but was told I would have to take the gx29 as it was now on its way. And if I sent it back the whole deal would have to be re negotiated. Any advice? I would prefer to keep my existing number if possible.

i was offered that deal. same minutes and texts but also with stop the clock with either a k750i or w800i and a bluetooth headset.
in my ignorance i went for the k750i, tbut after talking to some ofthe guys in my office decided to take the w800i.
i rang back and she said wait for the k750i to arrive then call returns _ you have 14 days to 'cool off'. i did this and then there were no w800i's left as it is now replaced by the w810i and there was no way i could have one of those. so i missed a trick there.

I think you could have haggled a bit harder, but it is crap when they call you cold - i think it works in their favour. i suggest you call returns and ask if they can get you back through to the guy/gal who did your deal. if he didnt actually offer you either, then you might be on a sticky wicket.

also try to haggle for the stop the clock and the bluetooth headset. the stop the clock is a great deal if they offer it to you and the headset can go on ebay if you dont want it.

Thanks for your reply, I did ring Returns, got someone very helpful, and he said no problem at all, we will send you the t600 and you give the courier, the gx29, and the contract will stay as it is. unfortunately I had done this before I got your reply, otherwise I might have tried for the headset. Bit slow of me, I am fairly new to this haggling business! I am learning though, cheers!
