Caution: some local authorities charge a premium for cc usage that cancels out the cashback.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.

WOW! thankyou so much to everyone for their varied replies. Got to say that I valued all but am no further deciding.
I wanted to use a cc in order to reduce the debt (I have insignificant savings as paying off debts so will not lose interest). I do not pay any bills from my account as they are taken care of from a seperate 'bills' account.
I have checked t&c's and cannot see anything that says I cannot be in credit for a while and as I would still be using the card it would take a while for it to be totally debt free by the end of the month.
    thanks again x
:icotbaske Hoping to be debt free in 3 years in time for 25th anniversary.

No EXTRA charge, because the cost is already built into your Council Tax Bill. The more people that pay this way the higher your bill will be - you don't think the council are paying the commission out of their pocket do you ?

You get 1% ? If everyone pays like this your bill goes up by 3 to 5% - bargain ?
