A short while ago I saw a TV programme featuring a lamb casserol type meal with black pudding added, I thought it might be from the 2 Hairy Bikers Winter Warmers progeamme but I can't find it anywhere online & I might be getting confused because I know they did feature balck pudding in that episode. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have such a recipie?

The recipe you are thinking of is I believe the Lancashire Hotpot that they did which had black pudding in - I don't know if that would help if you searched. I love hte hairy bikers but somehow never inspired to make what they cook0

Thanks so much Pink, that is the one!:T Unfortunately I've already got HJ's on in the slow cooker now, oh well didn't have any kidneys in anyway so will have to have a go next week and I'm sure the other one will be delish too. My butcher is looking forward to my feedback, he was intrigued when I mentioned it to him, maybe I could blag cheap ingredients in return for giving him the link to the recipe & a report on it for his new e-newsletter!

i would go for something north african-influenced.... use diced swede, diced carrot, diced courgette, diced potato, chopped onion, garlic, chilli, tomato puree, chick peas, stock and some chopped mint. add to your browned lamb. when cooked, take out some of the veg, mash or liquidise and add back to the dish.... add some soaked dried apricots to the dish if you fancy them. serve with couscous or rice, or just as it is0
