Removal Companies HELP!!

Agreed but I do question someones comments when they have no actual experience on the subject.
I you mean me no actual experience????
I do have experience my personal life moved last Autumn (no packing - right for us) within the same week my daughter moved (had packing - took hours and removal vans didn't get asqway until late afternoom).
Does 40 years in the business and having dealt with 1,000's of transactions count for nothing. So do you stick with your comment or what?A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -

I was referring to Landy Andy! So yes I do
Not sure what the 40 years comment is about!0 -

You have one experience as an individual, so does Landyandy.
Chickmug was allowing for the fact that we all have different preferences, rather than taking a pedantic line. Not packing your own stuff is great if you have a relatively small amount, have not lived somewhere a long time or are not a hoarder, to give just a few examples.
On the other hand, if you have loads of stuff; perhaps things you don't need any more, packing can be a good time to evaluate & rationalise. A further example is someone who has many valuables, who may prefer to pack and then ship them separately.
It's a personal thing, not a one size fits all.0 -

I agree it's a personal thing. I actually asked the question, if you take a look, as to whether LandyAndy had used a packing service so I could understand if his comment was based on fact or heresay. It was an honest question to which I still have no answer. My statement is based on the fact I have used packing services and found them to be great. Can't see why you see this as pedantic... :rolleyes:0 -
For the removal of doubt.
I have never used a packing service and I feel it would be inappropriate for us.
We have lots and lots of stuff and I think it would difficult to pack it all at the last minute.
Packing isn't difficult or stressful. It is time consuming. So, get your packing materials well in advance from your remover, take your time to do it to your satisfaction and save some money.
If you don't have much stuff and/or you want absolutely all of your possessions available until the last minute and/or you are willing to pay the extra to have the packing done for you then that's fine.
Personally I would find it very much more stressful to arrive at the day of the move with nothing done.0
