And, of course, eBay recently changed the feedback rules in the scammers' favour - no more negative feedbacks, apparently.

Nope, ebay changed it so that seller could not leave retaliatory feedback. In this instance the OP a buyer can still leave a negative for the seller with no fear of getting one in return.

However seller will be long gone, this is so common a scam I don't think we even bother to have it as a warning on the sticky thread about ebay and paypal scams.

soolin, I still feel eBay screwed over ordinary buyers, plus their long partnership with Paypal, which is part of the Bank of Scotland (or is it RBS? I forget, must be my age) in the UK.

If you talk to the sellers though they feel that buyers have eveything in their favour. Buyers now have full paypal protection, returns for any reason, can't be left a neg..the list goes on. Buyers still pay no fees whereas sellers have seen increases in many areas.

Yup, to get an impressive feedback rating, all that you need to do is to buy a load of 99p items.
Now that eBay has changed the feedback rules so that you can ONLY leave +ve feedback as a sller for a buyer, it would be sensible to see 2 feedback ratings:-
    1. As a buyer
    2. As a seller
You CAN see these by examining the feedback details but it is not as usefull as seeing something like this:-

FEEDBACK AS A BUYER 99 GOOD, 0 NEUTRAL, 0 BAD

FEEDBACK AS A SELLER 0 GOOD, 2 NEUTRAL, 7 BAD

This would put you right off buying from them but if you saw this: -

FEEDBACK AS A BUYER 99 GOOD, 2 NEUTRAL, 7 BAD

then you are lured to think - hey looks OK(ish)

In hindsight, the feedback figures are actually extra misleading as I see that one seller left +ve feedback stating "non payer waste of time and money", so THAT feedback did not even cost 99p! Just goes to show how useless the whole feedback numbers racket is....

I'm a buyer and have nothing in my favour in this case, of course it warrants a warning on this thread. I am out of pocket, Darren Wood is a thief, anyway, since my first post I have now reported to the police, and guess what, they are interested in taking it further! Justice will be mine!

Well, after starting this post, and reporting to police, within half hour I have a reversal made by either paypal or Darren Wood himself. So maybe someone has shown him the thread, or paypal have looked at the case again, I have my money back. But everyone, beware of the scam.
