Am in the stages of buying a house. It's in a poor cosmetic state, but the only thing of note to come up in surveys has been the wiring. To all intents and purposes it needs rewiring. Cheers Andy! I have to admit I had no idea quite how stressful the whole thing was going to be! And one of the most frustrating things is waiting for people to get back to you despite MUCH prodding (currently waiting for email from Solicitor, heating/plumbing guy to do a survey, email from an electrician - and can't do anything until they've all replied!).
