Isa Question

Hello

I has an isa with my bank from august last year didn't really use it because of work problems.
I am now shutting my account with this bank. Tha problem is my Isa won't be shut down until 07-04-06 does this mean i cannot open another isa this tax year eventhough there's no money in it?

Thanks for you help

James

An ISA from last (tax) year doesn't affect this year's at all - you can open one anytime now.

Did you put any cash in last year's - if so, no need to close it down even though you're closing the current account - just ask any new provider to transfer it.

As previous post - you can open a new ISA with a clear conscience. But just leave the old one to die - as you say
    there's no meney in it?
So no point trying to transfer an empty wrapper - as you can't retrospectively put money in it.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
