Thanks Froddy, its fine to ask dont worry.
He is autistic and was mute until about 18 months ago (he is 4.5 now). He is very quiet and withdrawn but with violent episodes (as he doesnt make much noise you dont know about it until you hear something smashing!) but he does have very good understanding on the occasions that someone can get it out of him if that makes sense. He has made such improvements since he started talking that we were fearful he would regress in the 'wrong' school. He cannot feed himself and is still in nappies full time. The special school he will be going to is autism specific so he will be with 'experts' (we are very new to the condition) and who knows what he will be able to achieve in the future.

Ok, I have a question for soappie or anyone else who's around. My dad gave me (from his lovely garden) just under 1lb of blackberries and just under 2lb of rhubarb. I don't want to make crumbles so ..............

oh lovely - early for blackberries - are they a cultivator?
Not much to report from me, have had the amazing news that DS has had his statement through and the LEA agree with the special school choice, so a big yeay for that.
I am now on day 20 on quitting smoking and it is going well.
Hope your son enjoys his school and well done on your 20 days

That's brilliant then! Does he start in Sept? Yes, that makes perfect sense and, if it's any help, he sounds like lots of others littlies I know. I think you'll be amazed at what the school can do for him. Are you getting any support at the moment - there is lots of info around to help you and him. He sounds just like my sort of boy!Dustykitten wrote: »oh lovely - early for blackberries - are they a cultivator?
