I wanted to apply for this credit card but wanted to know if they will accept me as Im a studnet. Not on their student accoont but their standard current account? Any 1 had experience with them as a student?
Also when I log on to internet banking and click on the credit card application my details, some of them are filled in with me only having to press the apply button?
Does this mean I am pre-approved, or will it result in a credit search if i click apply?

any application for credit will more than likely require a credit search. its probably pre-filled as you are a customer with HSBC. all you can do for an accurate answer is apply for the card and see what happens. I am a student and had a credit card with them.0

If your credit is okay and you have been a good customer, then i would encourage u to apply0

If you click through they will run a credit check on you.
Also, it has only been a few years since HSBC started using credit checks. So depending on how long you have held your account, the account may not be being reported on. Once you click, your current account will then start being reported on.0 -

It obviously depends on several factors inclusive of your internal score with bankKavanne

Yeah, and then what? They went belly up and cost the tax-payer billions.0 -
How ironic that you have a very similar username to me. The information that is pre-filled, is what you gave to HSBC when you opened your account, or when you applied for an overdraft. This is pre-filled for everyone who applied for a credit card online with HSBC, while logged into internet banking.
Just click continue, it'll do a credit search, then tell you whether you've been accepted or declined. If you've run your account well, and you have some previous credit history and no defaults/ccj's, then you should be fine.0 -
I was declined nearly a year ago for this card. My current account has been run well, mostly dormant with few transactions going in and out? as I have near stopped using the hsbc account. Not sure if its worth applying, as they seem to be strict in their criteria from some of the posts written?0
