Ruined stainless steel hob

  • If the baby oil doesn't work, CIF do a cleaning stuff specifically for stainless-steel and it is magic! Be careful to only use the tiniest amount at a time though (a bottle will last ages - I've had mine 3 years now and still only halfway through!).

  • hi,

Well I tried the babyoil and its not worked at all..................

I will have a walk to Morrisons sometime and see if I can get some of the CIF stuff .....

I have never even heard of Lakeland but have had a swizz at the website but the postage seems a bit excessive. Hopefully the above will work.

    Thanks

Which spray cleaner did you use? Anything containing ammonia will react with the stainless steel.

  • After reading some of your comments, we tried a product called PEEK...a silver cleaner purchased from a shoe repair shop.
The results were amazing. It takes a bit longer, because you have to aply the product a tiny bit at a time, polish and buffet it...and then do it again, but...nobody believes it is the same hob we ad stored in the shed for5 tears. Absolutly amazing stuff.

How strange that you should have dug up a thread from a year ago...I wonder why that might be?
