Broadband disconnection charge? Pipex
mazzerman
Hello
I was with Pipex for telephone and broadband for nearly 3 years so therfore past the 12 month contract period.
After giving a months notice ( for charging me full interational rates even though i was paying a monthly fee to them for cheap international calls, but thats another story )
They sent me a final billl which i paid, but they are now demanding another £20 disconnection fee.......
Is this legal?
I was lead to beleive that if you cancelled within the 1st 12 months there would be a cancellation fee, but after nearly 3 years it doesn't sit well for a good word for them.....
Any feedback is appreciated.
regards

as BT are charging a disconnection fee..I guess this is being passed on to you..and will probably be in the T+Cs.
If you are transferring to another bband supplier, using a MAC, I don't think the charge will apply.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Their Ts&Cs state that there would be a disconnection fee even after 12 months, they even highlighted it at sign up too.
There were quite a number of threads on various forums and newsgroups about them when they brought that in a few years back too. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Since when was the 'C' in 'T&C' singular'? By our own petards...

You'll find I accidentally put the 'T' as singular and not the 'C' however I have corrected that.
Now you might want to put in an apostrophe but there is no belonging, so wouldn't really be correct. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
