kaspersky my year's use is running out.....

we have had lappy a year and got a cheap deal on kaspersky and its nearly run out and its gone expensive to renew
so whats the next best thing to kaspersky? (which is also cheap)
ive been very happy with it and had no trouble so i need something at the same standard or better

How expensive is expensive? You don't have to renew the subscription direct with Kaspersky. There's nothing to stop you buying a new package again from Amazon or whatever.

If you look at 2010 on amazon, that's the price they give, so I would imagine that Kaspersky are trying to upgrade you to that.

ive been using free software downloaded from the net for both firewall and virus scanning for the past 9 years and have never had any problems with a virus or malware.


just search the net, what im using at mo is COMODO FIREWALL and avast! antivirus Home Edition. When you get to there websites just make sure you download the free versions, think you only have to pay if you're going to be using them on business systems or you download the versions with all the bells and whistles.

other alternatives are AVG ANTI-VIRUS FREE EDITION and ZONELABS ZONEALARM FIREWALL.

you also have microsoft windows defender which you can download from the microsoft website which scans for malware/spyware.

all the above software is highly praised in the computer press.
