Priceline for car hire?

Has anyone used Priceline for car hire?
I have just used Priceline for the first time to book a hotel (in San Francisco) for a price I am very happy with.
Am considering using them to book car hire, but I have some concerns - how will I know what is included, and what if I end up having to pay stupid extra charges for second driver, or even for mileage etc?
Or end up with one of those companies that doesn't say anything when you return the car, but then debit your card for the XS two weeks later...
I would be very glad to hear anyone's experience, good or bad
THANKS

It is my understanding that priceline car hire is the base price only. If you need CDW, LDW or any other insurances or facilities they're extra which can be very expensive. It suits Americans since most of them have all the insurance they need through their own car policies or credit cards and they're not dependent on the hire company.

Thanks.
Yes, having looked into it a bit more it won't suit me anyway as they only do max 28 days.
As you say, CDW is an extra - tho poss to buy this separately - and so is a second driver (at unspecified cost!), though unlimited mileage is included. So seems too risky, will have a look at the sites you recommend...0
