And to round things off, I didn't realise that you had to spend a minimum of £25 to take advantage of the £5 off voucher that was given out with a previous spend. My fault entirely for not reading the thing, but the top I was going to buy purely because I was getting £10 off (2 x vouchers) ended up getting left too.  :(

I spent my 2 £5 vouchers on something costing £11 without any hassle. Did it state a £25 spend on the back of the voucher?

I get most of my clothes at Matalan, and proud of it too ;D ;D

I like Matalan because you don't get sales staff breathing down your neck asking if they can help. If I wanted help I would see a doctor, not a sales person. >:(

.....but some clothes do fall apart prematurely I must admit, but at the prices being charged you can afford to throw them away ;D ;D

If you can afford to spend £80 on pair of trousers or a shirt then don't go to Matalan, it is quite simple really ;D ;D

You must have got lucky! My store has an A4 sized notice at every till stating the £25 spend.

It also had this on the front of the voucher, but I didn't bother to read it until I got to the tills.  ::)

Ref Matalan I have had no problems :) with kit bought from there at all !!!! Some food stuffs dearer than Big Supermarkets but still has some bargains to offer !

For military personnel if you show your id card they will give you a day pass which allows you to buy anything on the shelves.

    Merry Xmas to all,

    Gav  ;D

I assumed the poster meant Makro ;D

As for Matalan selling rubbish what a load of nonsense. I regularly buy at Matalan and have many of their clothes in my wardrobe. When I wear them I am regularly complimented, usually from people who only shop in the more expensive shops. ;D

My daughter who has bought her first flat has lots of household items from Matalan and the flat looks great.
Their mongolian cushions are so soft and cuddly and much superior to those from a more expensive shop where they were almost 3 times the price of Matalan.

Childrens clothes are another great buy from Matalan, especially when they do their buy 1 get 1 free.

From a confirmed Matalan shopper ;)

Matalan home products have improved greatly recently. I bought a telescopic airer a few weeks back, which they sell at Lakeland Plastics, but cost 5 pounds less. I also bought some cutlery excellent quality cutlery. Like most of these cheap stores you have to pick your items carefully, but there are some definite good buys at Matalan
So many shoes, so little time....
