but....
now, i love to throw a spanner in the works.. you're going to a concert.. doors open 7pm, first act on at 9pm, and the headliner at about 10pm, you've got plenty of time..
unless..., thunderstorms... weather delay, equipment change, mechanical delay. so you don't actually end up at your destination, with things out of the control of United, or NetFlights...
why you didn't book the day before previously, i have no clue, but i know I personally don't book anything for the same day as I land, incase something goes wrong.. but also, i know how tired i'm going to be in NYC (and that's only a 5 hour time difference!)
fingers crossed things work out, but what's the point having a go at a company, when you hadn't followed every avenue, and eventually, when you did speak to someone who had the time for you they sorted it....0 -
The trip wasn't specifically booked to attend the concert. We had booked it in May and just happened to find out a couple of weeks ago that the concert was happening the night we arrived.
We decided to take a gamble, fully prepared and accepting that we might not make it in the event of flight delays, etc. So that wasn't a problem. It would be a bonus if we did make it on time, but no really biggie if we didn't.
My complaint, and the reason I am having a go at the company, is that they wouldn't listen when I told them the change could be made. If United had told me it couldn't be changed then I would have accepted it.
Yes they did eventually sort it, but the key word is eventually. That was only after 24 hours, many frustrating phone calls and not giving up.0
