When I'm selling, I leave feedback once item is paid for, after all, the buyer has completed their end of the bargain.

I get SO annoyed when I get mails from buyers who say *once you've received the product please leave feedback and i'll do the same*. Does my head in.

If I am buying, I leave appropriate feedback as soon as I receive the item.
If I am selling I dont leave feedback until the buyer leaves it for me, so I know they have received the item and are happy with it.
This has worked for me on the whole (so far) I have had a couple who haven't left feedback, so I didnt leave it for them. OK a bit pathetic, but there are some really strange people out there, I've heard a few wierd and wonderful tales since buying/selling on ebay! I have noticed the two people who didnt leave me any feedback, both became "no longer registered with ebay" fairly soon after anyway.
I think the feedback system on ebay is not ideal, but I can't think of any other way to do it that would work better.

For me the transaction isn't complete until i know that the buyer is happy. This is usually done when they leave feedback. I used to leave feedback when the buyer paid for an item but often i never recieved back. I always email the buyer when i send off the item letting them know that its on the way and sometimes i get an email when the receive it saying thank you, left feedback or words to that effect.

Feedback is optional but i don't see why i should boost others feedbacks if buyers don't have the curtesy to leave feedback to their sellers.

After reading on here as well the amount of times buyers have complained about being charged a matter of pence over actual postage costs i thought it was better to start leaving feedback after i knew that everything was okay.

Only a few of sellers that i have purchased from leave feedback straight away but most of them are relatively new to selling and the number of sellers that do this now is dropping.

I agree with leaving feedback after buyer has. How can you rate the success of a transaction if the buyer hasn't even received the item when you leave your feedback (after getting paid)?
