Doomcow i think if you have a google of the british humanist association you'll find all the info you need. There used to be a really excellent blog written by a humanist funeral celebrant too- not the same as a wedding obviously but it should give you an idea about the approach to ceremonies- it was called real e fun.

Doomy - you can add whatever you like to a civil ceremony so long as the legal bit is included. We had a friend to a reading and did the rose ceremony in ours and our guests thought it was lovely

From my understanding it's not 'anti God' but the rejection of the idea. Ifyou want any sort of religious language or blessings though you're probably better going for a civil ceremony and maybe adding our own content? I'm sure it'll be lovely however you decide to do it. When's the big day?

yeah, i think the civil with adding bits in and such would be fine.

shell: yeah, very much rejection of the idea - quite vehmently too from what i've read.

i mean its all nice n sounds fair but i dont think its what i want...

the big day is 02/06/12 - nice and numerically round :)
