Hi
I have a unlocked N96 and looking at going to 3 for the PAYG Skype, MSN and internet deal. has anyone done this and got the settings sent to you from 3 do Skype etc will work, considering they sell the N96.

For Skype you'll need to download the Skype client from their portal but I'm sure it will work... apart from that you should be OK, just get the settings sent to you and hopefully you will be able to access the 3 portal. In any event you will be able to access the Internet.
Make sure you use 3's Skype client rather than one from the Skype website otherwise you may be charged.0 -
The tricky bit is all the APN and other settings.
Google FileSaveAs and APN to find them.
A Three N96 will have Three firmware to support their own services and I think you may have difficulty doing top ups on a non-Three branded phone, obviously on line or voucher top ups will be fine.
You may also find installing the Skype and MSN clients requires searching out Three versions (I believe absolutely required for Skype to work with three as the audio is handled as a call through the Three network).
Best of luck - progress reports welcomed !0 -
Don't all Nokia phones from the last three or four years have a settings wizard which sets all the appropriate access points? My last two Nokias have.0
