antarctica,
I have read elsewhere on this forum that some people may be escaping the initial OR interview by providing a clear detailed description of the reasons leading to their BR on the BR application, as opposed to a very brief sentence or two providing little detail.
Can you please share with us how in depth your reasons were described?
Do you think this may have helped your case?
I'm not sure yet what is asked for, but did you provide a lot of supporting documentation (bank/CC statements, etc.)?
Thanks,
dack0 -

I didn't go into a lot of depth about my bankruptcy reasons, just a couple of paragraphs.
I think it's cos they are really snowed under and also we don't have any assets and are on benefits at the moment so no IPA for now.
Didn't provide any supporting documentation, haven't been asked for any as of yet.
We did speak to the OR today as I had sent an email on Monday asking if we would hear from them soon, so they called to ask if we had received the pack with letters so sign, which turned up today.
Unfortunately the chap had quite a thick accent and my OH had problems understanding him.
OH: "Sorry I am having problems understanding your accent"
OR: "If you are saying you have assets I may have to interview you"
It was a bit frustrating to my OH
Then OR offered to call back on the other line in case his call wasn't clear and when he called back someone knocked at the door at that exact moment to ask why we're behind on the rent (housing benefits people pay 4 weeks in arrears...and we have been chasing them for absolutely ages)
Been a busy day. :mad:Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

I just called all my creditors (4) in succession and told them I am bankrupt, they were all quite nice about it, took my reference number and said they would update their systems and that all phone calls would cease.
It was a great feeling. Somehow I expected a fight but didn't get one!!

:T Glad the best case scenario panned out for you!
I thought that the OR let your creditors know about your BR for you, or have I got that bit wrong?
I have 24 creditors so it may take me some time if I go BR...:DPround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Yes the OR will let them know but as it might not be immediate and they will carry on calling til they know I thought I would take the initiative. MBNA had been calling at 8am every morning and I got fed up with it!!Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.
