My bankruptcy Journey

Does this sound okay to people as for the reason I am filing for bankruptcy?
"I have had difficulty paying my debts for a very long time indeed, this is mostly due to frequent ill health and unemployment problems.
I moved in with my partner in 1999 and had to get a loan to be able to afford this and various household items that we needed.
In 2004 I had to go for private medical treatment, due to the NHS not taking my health issues seriously. This cost me many thousands of pounds in fees and lost income. In 2006, in order to try and pay off my debts I entered into a Debt Management Plan with the Consumer Credit Counseling Service. Unfortunately I could not afford the monthly repayments and got behind again.
I have had many periods of depression and I am currently being treated for this through medication from my GP. Also, the current economic Downturn has meant that I have not been able to find employment since August 2008."

Mine wasn't much longer than that. The crucial thing is that you've mentioned that you've taken legal advice. That you have tried to deal with your debts by other means would look good to a Judge / OR I would think.
It'll be fine

Thank you.
Maybe I'll add something at the end about how I have taken further advice from the CCCS and they advise bankruptcy as the only option under our current financial circumstances and level of debt?Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

Yes that would be good.
Are you doing the online forms? If so, they only ask that you explain properly and not just put, "because of the recession" :rotfl:so you'll be OK.0 -
Yes I am doing the online forms.
I saw that comment too, ha ha. I did mention the economic downturn but not cos of the recession, on its own!
Wonder what the shortest answer they got was!Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

Yes. People that aren't eloquent must petition for bankruptcy too.
Thankfully, it's not judged on whether you can write a poem or sonnet or I'd be screwed.Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.
