Hi Moonbeam2, quite a few people left Wolstenholmes as soon as they saw the shady business practices. Waseem Siddiq, a declared bankrupt and main owner of Wolstenholmes has fled the country with the cash but before he did so he started threatening ex employees. This guy walks around with a huge thug to back up his threats.

Those ex employees that left to work elsewhere are now being subjected to libellous slurs by an ill informed agitator called Cakinwande on here.... if Cakinwande would like to substantiate their lies I'd like to see it on here otherwise they should concentrate their vitrol on the main staff of Wolstenholmes and stop taking cowardly pot shots at decent hard working people.. all of whom left Wolstenholmes to get away from the swindling culture.

Keep an eye on Cakinwande's posts - I expect them to be removed from this site very shortly once the report for their libellous posts has been submitted and they fail to substantiate their lies

Well, all I can say is that we should be directing our vitriol at the organ grinders and not the monkeys. At least 5 organ grinders are involved in all this and they have all been suspended by the SRA! As to the owner(s) of Wolstenholmes and mastermind(s) behind it all, as they are not solicitors, unfortunately the SRA has no jurisdiction over them. I just hope that with the media coverage this affair has been given, as well as the involvement of the local MP for Cheadle at Government level, a far-reaching investigation will be carried out and those responsible caught and punished.

I sincerely hope this entire thread doesn't disappear (with the possible exception of libellous posts) as it has proved to be a lifeline for the victims of Wolstenholmes. Even now ex-clients of Wolstenholmes are joining this thread some 2 weeks after the SRA intervention who had no idea what happened with Wolstenholmes until they found this forum! I think it is very important that we keep in contact with each other and report on the progress of our claims.
  • I sold my house on 18/12/2009 and although the mortgage was paid off the same day, my equity has not been paid to me. I was promised it would be sent 22/12/2009 at 10.30am, but of course, it didn't happen! I have now had to instruct a new solicitor to try and get the file for my purchase and dealing with the SRA and the intermediary solicitors to try and get my equity. I'n not a happy bunny!
My solicitor was Jo Davis and I am going to defend her. Although at the beginning it was a sloppy service, Jo took responsibility for getting the sale through on time, as my son was buying my house and it needed to be completed before the end of the year so he did not have to pay stamp duty. She worked really hard on my behalf and managed to get it all done. My mortgage was paid off but just not my transaction to my account. Jo kept in contact with me all that week by phone and e-mail. I know I may be being naive here, but Jo phoned me on the Friday afternoon to say their cut off time to get the CHAPS payments done was 3.30pm and she was desperately trying to get both transactions done but the mortgage took priority. Jo said that if it didn't go on the Friday, it definately would on the Monday. Now, she was either blatently lying or she really did believe that the payments would be made and the offices would be open. I'll leave it to you to decide for yourselves, but I do think some of the staff were as much victims in this mess as we are. Although there is going to be a delay in my purchase and I am losing interest on my equity, I still have a job, these people don't and they don't have any redundancy either. I know who's shoes I would rather be in.

I love to see my name mentioned by this "Mark Wall". I had a good chuckle whilst reading his post. :rotfl:

All my posts are obviously public and if you look under my name you will see I have been thanked a number of times for my information and never once have I had a post removed since my first post, #7, in May.

I am the type of person who HATES being taken advantage of but I feel more angry for the people who have several thousands missing. I have only a couple of hundred missing but the people who have nowhere to live has got me fighting for what is right. I have morals and I will not say anything that is fabricated. In these last few months I have only repeated what I have read by other posters and what I have found out by investigation from other websites.

I am very suspiscious indeed about Home Solicitors and rightly so. Here are the facts

    1) HS have a number of ex WH employees working there
    2) Daniella Gonzalez COINCIDENTALLY had the same phones numbers at WH & HS
    3) HS website is virtually the same as WH,
    4) HS only started trading in August 2009,
    5) The Law Society only reports having 2 regulated principles and these 2 people are the only listed solicitors who are qualified to deal with ANY legal matter efficiently. Other employees are not listed because they are just assistants.
    6) Other members were the ones who categorically said there was a relationship between WH & HS #167 & #142
    7) The bad reviews have already begun for HS http://www.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Home_Solicitors_LLP__7455240

Whilst I have no had direct dealings with HS, all the things above were reported by not only me, but by other members of this forum, and I for one will not put my thousands into a company that has only been running 5 months.

HS are the only ones responsible for their reputation, not anybody else. If they do good work then they have nothing to worry about. ;)
  • Keiran, Ghandi was a lawyer, so was Mandela - are they b*****ds? most lawyers are very honest and trustworthy and act in the best interests of their clients.

Unfortunately there are always a few rotten apples - the SRA will probably prosecute and they may be struck off.

Please do not generalise as it is not helpful.

I am an ex employee of Wolstenholmes and have not done anything wrong. I did my job and was never aware of any wrong doings going on. I was also fed a load of lies from Imran Hussain. It is not fair that people who were trying to earn a living and are genuine to be dragged into all this. I really do feel for everyone who has been affected by Wolstenholmes and hope it is all sorted out. We were told that the company was fine and that we was all meant to return to work after Christmas.

Sorry for what has happend to you all and I wish you all the best. wish there was something I could have done x x x

Tell us more, what office did you work in?

Mr Wall tell me this, how many ex employees of Wolstenholmes and that includes yourself took your accusations and concerns regarding shady buiness practices too the SRA/LCS as you are obligated to?

Because you know questions are now being asked and I hope you have a good enough answer when called upon?

Ok, but some of us are out of pocket with tens of thousands missing, far more than any redundancy package and any monthly pay packet.

We know the date when the SRA finally took action.

It would be interesting to learn how long it took from when issues frst started to be flagged with the SRA and LCS.
