Has anybody been able to get through to anybody at Stirling-Law, I've not even been able to get through to the website and they currently have my file from the birmingham and can't get through on phone or email?
Stirling Law sound like another dodgy firm. For one, they have a mobile phone number listed as their main contact number on the LS. WH are not allowed to transfer your files to another solicitor without your permission or notfication. Try calling Imran Hussain 0161 4981659 for an explanation.0 -

I tried that just before Christmas and he wouldn't give me an answer! I've just heard via a third party that all the probate files at WH's Heald Green office were sent to another firm of solicitors sometime during the early or middle part of December but this person didn't know where they had gone! I contacted DWF this morning to see if they have my file but so far have only had an acknowlegement that they have received my e-mail.0 -
I was unfortunate to appoint these mugs also. It is a pain in the backside esp since a month has been wasted and it is only me as a FTB (and what a bite in the bum I got) and the sellers as they found a vacant property.
Does anyone know if there is a way I can find out exactly how far they got, if indeed they did anything! I don't want to have to pay out for land registry etc again if it has already been done.
Hope that we can all get our issues resolved asap, but am sure SLA have their hands full with this one.
You are lucky we instructed them 2nd week September (a simple buy and sell, no chain) and we found out end of December (when they were supposed to exchange 18.12.09), so we had to instruct a new solicitor, and this is their 1st day back, so we are starting again! and paying again.
They have our title deeds, but as the new solicitor said, it doesn't matter as they are obsolete as soon as they get them as have to change to new owners name.
Although I got to speak to Imran Hussain, who promised me that he would send my refund and title deeds! Glad I did not hold my breath, otherwise I would not be typing this now.
We are one of the lucky ones, we don't have hundreds or thousands tied up in their client account. It has been the most stressful time I have ever known and cried tears, but at the end of the day we still have our health and we are/have moved on
Good luck to everyone.A bad attitude is like a flat tyre: you are not going to get anywhere in life until you change it.
If you always do the things you've always done, you'll only get what you've always got!0 -

For some reason... don't ask me how (mainly cos it is obvious given the recent news) ... I don't think Imran will be picking up. I left messages on there a few weeks ago. Would get more response from a brick wall.0 -

we are with sterling law as our file was passed over they seemed to be doing okay before xmas and our mortgage broker seemed quite happy with how they were progressing , however we got concerned today with the links to wolstenholmes still as they have the deposit money for our new house from the sale of our old house so the chain didnt collapse we also moved into temporary accommodation now desperately hoping if they are linked our money will also be frozen wait see what tomorrow brings we kept trying today and even phoned bt they said cables were down at shrewsbury so could that explain it ,desperately hoping so otherwise previously thought cost of extra £2000. approx and rising but if not we could now have lost everything money and house new and old !!0 -

I'm in the same boat as you, I've been trying all day and still can't get through to them.
