There appears to be an IT problem. Does this help?

I just spoke to Mr Hussain on his mobile - he has denied that they have gone in to administration, saying that the Birmingham Office has closed and cases have been forwarded to another office to deal with. Interestingly I was calling a Manchester number so that doesn't stack up.
He asked me to send him the case details and name of our conveyancer so that he could chase up. He is at a client lunch, so I'll have to wait until he's finished quaffing champers and eating foie gras before I get a reply.

Hi all, i have been reading some of the comments and i would just like to clear up some details and then i will not be on here again because somebody else has also logged in as MOOngate and i do not want to be associated with them or their comments. I have said before i am a previous staff member of Wolstenholmes. I stress i am NOT a solicitor i was admin staff who was lucky to get out and now work in an office which is not law related. Nasir Ilyas owned the company and brought in two non solicitors, Waseem Saddique and Mario Cardinali, just a side line Ashma Quereshi is Nasirs wife and employee. They put staff under so much pressure and didn't have a clue what they were doing. They have since brought in Imran Hussain. I have been informed that they have sold thousands of conveyancing files to another solicitor, this should not have happened without your written consent, so if the other solicitors call you, they may be great, but ask why they have taken then file on without your consent. but my best advice would be, nothing beats face to face contact with your high street solicitor, there are some good ones out there, honest. if you don't know one then ask friends, neighbours or even the local estate agents. I just want to wish you all well and good luck.
lots of love moongate
Further information can be obtained from Companies House. Go to their website and select Webcheck. Search on company name and find it. If you then select Order Information on Company, some very interesting details are revealed :-).0 -
I have just managed to get through to the office in Manchester, he confirmed that Birmingham has closed and that the files have been passed on to another Solicitor to deal with. He gave me the name Sterling Law and a number - 0161 624 5777, which actually belongs to Chartbridge Solicitors in Oldham and just rings forever.
As we seem to be fed one untruth after another, I am moving on to a new solicitor and basically writing my money off, as I think the possibility of a refund is low to say the least.
I think we will see a new star on BBC Watchdog soon, for sure.0 -
Instructed them in August to transfer title from mum and dad's name (dad deceased) and was told it was so straight forward that it will only take 2 weeks as no chain nor money had to change hands. Caroline Higgins the case handler was so negligent, rude and useless that she tried to transfer my home address instead of parent's address and was promptly told by the land registry that my property was subject to a charge by my mortgage company (tip to Wolstenholmes, always try and get the address right first !), sent a letter of authorisation to my father (deceased 5 years ago) etc. etc. etc. When I complained she told me she had 20+ years of experience etc. and was generally rude and bordering abusive ! Complaint procedure useless - nobody bothered responding. To cut a long story short I have called the land registry today (after 4 months of nothing from Wolstenholmes) and it seems that at least they have managed to transfer the title successfully at last ! Lesson learnt here - you get what you pay for - I feel sorry for those still waiting for this lot to do something right !If you don't have 'owt important to say then don't say 'owt ...0

Not according to the Law Society website, they don't. The only office listed for them is in Loughborough, Leics. This is getting stranger by the minute.0 -

I won't bother them - the guy was just feeding me any old rubbish just to get me off the phone. He told me he had only been working for them for 2 weeks, so I wished him a long and happy career with his lovely, reliable employers.0
