Once your offer was excepted on a house how many times did you go back to look inside ?
The house we have had an offer excepted on we have been to twice (pre offer) but i would like to go back with my parents and dp would like to take his parents too. Also i would like to go back later on and measure up just me and dp.
Would 3 more viewings over the coming weeks / months be too excessive ?
Thanks

Are there people living in it now?
If so, I'd definitely say yes!0 -

My view was every person is different but whichever party buys you need to accept whenever they want to go back and take sizes, show Mum & Dad round type of things so it has to be fine.
But every time it happens the seller WILL panic as they will be looking for any sign, with you, that your interest, in the place, is fading. So when you call to arrange the visit, and when you are there, reassure them as it will be very stressful for them. Could you not show both sets of parents and measure up at the same time?
Maybe the EA will get cheesed off.....
We offered after our second viewing. I went back to survey with a colleague and am going tomorrow to measure up. The house isn't lived in so no 'upheaval' for the vendors = 2 visits since sale agreed and the survey/valuation was obviously necessary.0 -
My post crossed with your last post.
I guess the EA may get fed up as many seem to do so and very easy. But I say it is your right but they may start saying we will let you in x number of times and after which they may get more awkward. We only had the 1 viewing on the house we are buying and returning tomorrow with our son to show him and take the measurements but we are so close to exchanging and completing the vendors are happy to allow us to show our son.
Maybe when a bit more further along you could go back and take measurements etc.
I have heard from a work colleague that when selling his house the buyer turned up near completion date with his parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters asking to show them round. Was about 8 of them.0 -

If we got both sets of parents to look at the house at the same time there wont be a house standing at the end  Me and dp have been together 14 years and have 4 children together but i have never been good enough for my mil and she has never been quiet in her opinion hence the reason for parents not to meet :rotfl:

I dont think it excessive - its the biggest purchase you will ever make, however I wouldnt measure up til after exchange, as what if it falls through at either the survey stage or the vendors pull out (both have happened to me, and I had spent time doing viewings, measuring etc). I would hold off til after exchange if I am honest, but that is just my opinion.0

I am trying to find out something similar today from our estate agent today.
We made two viewings and then decided to make our offer(s) on the house. We haven;t been back inside since, but have drove past a few times.
We are hoping to exchange this coming Tuesday, and complete next Friday - so I am asking the estate agent if they will let us go tomorrow morning t o measure up, as it is empty (repo) and at least one room needs a carpet. we also wanted to have a look around for potential malicious damage that may need sorting before services go back on.
None of this will stop us buying the house, but next week we will only have potentially 3 days between exchange and completion, and we probably wont have a chance to measure up.
Do you think they may let us do this tomorrow - either by lending us the keys for an hour, or supervising us, or will they say we have to wait until exchange?0 -

I think i will go and measure up with my parents next week and closer to exchange dp can take his parents round so big gap and we can make a list of things between the 2 visits of things we have forgot.
