Woo hoo!! A move date - yeay!!!

Just caught up on pages of the stuff (in Edinburgh last week) - how your OH could even begiin to suggest that you go without a car?!?! Speechless!! I work from home (a teeny weeny little bit) - occasional massages and all of OH's paperwork (a few hours a week). I have 1 child at home and 3 at school (1.8miles away for DS1 & 2 - DD catches bus to secondary school) and Tesco is 1.3 miles away. No way would I contemplate being without a car long term (I have a very sensible 59 plate Golf Plus :D) Bah! Men!!! (inc FiLs!)

Anyway, remember to breathe and occasionally chill!!! :)

ETA : if you use the RM redirect service there was a linky to a website that gives you a freebie box (cereals, loo rolls, kitchen towel, light bulbs) and a checklist of who/ when to inform....)

Right now we know this place is gone we need to get a plan in order. New MF date is December 2020 :D Well thats my aim :) Fixed rate until 31/12/2012 with 10% OP's a year (welll thats what we have applied for still waiting on final ok). I will crack on with a rough SOA for me being on maternity leave so we can see what cushion we need before mat pay kicks in plus a list of what is needed for baby.

Stayed in an apartmrnt (flat :D) at Brunstane, so caught the train into Waverley stn daily. Did the castle (so Mons Meg & 1 o'clock gun) (and also looked at it at night and took pics), Museum on the Mound, Museum of Childhood, Valvonna & Crolla (NOT good for the bank balance!!:p), general shopping along Princes St and a general bumble here and there.

Haven't heard of Mary Kings Close.... Had a long list of stuff to do/ see but simply ran out of time/ energy (those hills with a pushchair!!!)

Want to go back next year without the children (need to persuade m-i-l to move in for a few days!) - and stay in a yummy hotel in the centre and do more stuff. Limited with 4 DC in tow! :D

So that looks like a 620 surplus income pre month which sounds great but for 18 weeks I will get SMP only so my weekly wage will fall to £120 a week not the £500+ it currently is so after tax, NI , Pension etc my monthly wage will fall from 1462 to around £480 so a 'loss' of 1k or there abouts.

That will obviously leave us with a deficate each month of about £400 for roughly 4 months.

So that leaves us in this rough position. Maternity leave starts around end of Jan I have 3 weeks holiday left to take for this year and my new leave year starts 1st feb 2011 which is 6 weeks worth. So if mat leave starts feb 2011 then i will have full pay the following month ends feb, march, april may and june. Wage at end of July August and September and October will be 1k less than normal I will have no maternity pay left come end of october. I will however have annual leave that i could then use to increase my time off (full pay again) by say another month and boost the coffers for end of november 2011 wage and christmas 2011.

So with full pay and the surplus between end december and end june fo 7 pays we need to save £1600 to cover shortfall for rest of mat leave. Pay back my parents whatever money we have needed for house move, possibly as much at £1700 because thats our current shortfall without including moving costs and incidentals that may occur. Finish off baby buying bits car seat could need looked at, not happy with fit of ours in main car so need to get the police car seat checker to check it closer the time, thinking jan sales.

What we have to come is £190 maternity grant thingy that I can apply for now, apparently my MW has a form for me to add my bank details too tomorrow and then sign and it will be sent in. I have transfered £290 from paypal into my spare current account and £170 from our ING saving account as IR dropped to about 0.5% this month. So my spare account sould be running at a balance of around £650 which I hope will cover moving costs and incidentals as well as bridging some of the deposit shortfall.

Our £1700 shortfall was based on a mortgage redemption amount of 50k and its looking like 49600 balance at the moment with one £400 payment to make but about £135 of that will cover interest plus whatever the admin redemption charge is, I have OH looking out the KFI for it at the moment so i can check and guestimate. ETA its £120 so hoping redemption amount to be closer £49500. Plan for this month is to spend as little as possible so we can add to the amount in spare current account and minimise need to borrow from my parents but we will see.
