It's a Samsung P28. I've been on thier website and downloaded all the drives I thought i needed. I transferred them onto a memory stick and moved them accross to the laptop. I had success in installing only one driver, that was for the modem. Can't find the drivers for; Ethernet controller, Multimedia audio controller, SM Bus controller and VIdeo Controller0

If you download them all and install, at least you will know you have all the latest drivers.0 -
Thanks for your help guys. Managed to get online at last. Just a couple of glitches. The browser is displaying the web page too large. Also there is something strange going on with scrolling and dragging. Very jerky. Smooth scrolling is enabled!0

Won't let me install this. It says the file name is too long (more than 88 characters) I have to shorten the file name. How do I do that?0 -
If you go here: http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en download and install Everest, it's a 30 day trial.
Once you run it it will put a selection of icons on your system tray, don't worry about them they're just timings for your computer, I only mention it as they scare the whotsit out of some people I've suggested this too.
Anyway, then click on the appropriate devices listed ie: Under Network it will list something such as PCI \ PNP Network that will be your NIC (network interface card) aka the thing you plug your cable modem into, it may even say something like 'Realtek RTL8211' if so, you now know you can goto the Realtek site and download the appropriate driver.
Or if you have a seperate NIC and it's NOT a part of your motherboard, then you could select Devices\PCI Devices and it will list the devices plugged into your motherboard, along with various other information if you recognise the one that's the NIC, then double click on it and it will give you a url to download the driver from.
It's the same for ALL devices that's plugged into the motherboard, Everest will profile them all and suggest once double clicked upon their entries you'll be given a suitable download location.
If all of that's too much of a challenge, then how about a 'Driver Robot':

Never really tried them before, just know they exist. Once you've found the relevent drivers, be sure to download something like: Driver Grabber: http://www.softpedia.com/downloadTag/Driver+Grabber this will scan your harddrive and put all the drivers into one folder, which you will be able to save to a disk\memory stick for later use.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Is yours the onboard graphics or a plugin? If so what is the EXACT graphics card you have?:idea:0
