I have to start early every year, as ds1 and my sisters birthdays are 7th dec and ds2 will be 16 on Xmas day  So extra special birthday pressie due this year

All that and Christmas as well, I need to get started NOW

I'm similar with mine, but not all as close, have DS2 on Halloween, Mum on 6th Nov and DS1 on 10th Dec so have to plan and get mega organised or I'll be skint all through the last 3 months of the year.

Since becoming Ill Saturday (with suspected swine flu) I have spend loads of time planning for christmas in between naps lol. I have decided to make my sis & bil a movie night in hamper as there expecting baby n02 in nov they will be spending alot of nights in!
So far I've decided to put a couple of films in, beers, popcorn, popcorn bucket, sweeties, chocs, maybe a giftcard for blockbusters/hmv etc..
I've had a look on google images and found some inspiration, I plan on getting a large stripey gift box to put it all in!

Gonna base it on something like this!

Hope your feeling better soon snowbrow, that movie hamper looks good, I thought about doing them last year but it was far too late to start them and already had most of my pressies.

  • That movie hamper does look fantastic.Last yeasr I spent less than usual but this year I plan to reduce the volume I give too.I will do hampers this year, always plan to but rarely get round to it.
I have loads of stuff in bags hidden away from the sales early in the year so am leaving it until November and finishing off the shopping then.
I have been looking at my xmas planner already and searching through recipes to see what new things I can try this year for the dinner though.

Oops, forgot to say, the Movies Hamper is a great idea and is ideal for my grown up nephews & nieces - so thanks for a terrific idea and photo.

Like a lot of you I also bought all my wrapping paper and cards in the January sales! I also bought my deluxe xmas pud in the sales in january too, reduced from £15 to a fiver in Mr S and the sell by date is 2010!!

nowbrow - hope you feel better soon x i like the hamper!! I was thinking of doing one for my cousins - teenage boys and i never know what to get them!! Did think about putting some vouchers in there aswell - was thinking of film popcorn drinks etc but was trying to think of something to make it a bit bigger present so a voucher for hmv etc would work well.......

    I love christmas :):)
