In the name of all things Christmassy NO!!!!!0 -
I normally put my Christmas decorations up on the 1st December but I use to live on the edge of a huge council estate and would see them going up as early as September, in fact most of the houses still have their outside lights still attached all year round, it's traditional with my mum that I go and put her tree up on the 13th - 12 days before christmas. As my decorations always looks fab (if I do say so myself!!), I also decorate my aunties and my nan's tree, last year as I was between homes my 7 foot tree (complete with decorations) went to my aunties to replace her old 3 foot tree and now I don't think I'll be getting it back. So I'm on the market for a new tree, does anyone know where to get one from - my last one was from Woolies 3 years again, 7 foot and a bargain at £20. Also what scheme does everyone use? I normally go with all gold, my mum has all handmade items from when I was a kid, including my favourite barbie who we turned into a fairy with a handmade dress as I refused to throw her away.0

Where did everyone go???
I think my crazyness scared everyone off
Well I have just had a look on a ebay for a christmas tree and have found not 1 but 2 that are suitable and are less than 5 miles away, the only problem now is to choose which one...
It's a choice between
tree1
or
tree2
I don't want a thin tree where there is loads of spaces between the branches so it looks bare so I'm trying to figure out which one will be the best.0 -
stokegal - I like the first one with the pine cones attached!
My decs go up the first weekend of December. They definitely will do this year as my first baby is due SOMETIME in December (due dates are anywhere between 12th and 19th depending on dates and which midwife you're talking to!! hehe). SO I'm looking forward to being on maternity leave and potching about with my tree nice and slowly one day while OH is in work. I'm HOPING baby will come early too, so in future years we can celebrate baby's birthday and then make the following day 'decoration day'! - Not so good if the baby comes too close to CHristmas!!! lol

Ahh congratulations on the baby, I was off last year over Christmas on Maternity leave and it was great (Not too good for my health as I was at high risk of pre-eclampsia), I wanted my baby to come around christmas time last year as i had picked out the name Holly, as it turns out I had a boy on the 26th January (on his daddys birthday, lol)
Do you know what you are having?0 -
Well, it's nowhere near 100% certain, but the sonographer thinks it's a girl! I have 3 more scans to go (growth scans as I'ma bit on the larger side so it's the easiest way to find out what's baby, and whats me! lol), so we'll have plenty of opportunities to find out if the sonographer was right or wrong!!
A cousin of mine had a little girl on Christmas day itself a few years ago and called her Abegail Holly.Addicted to Disneyland Paris!

I have stuff in bags in the office but all DS has to do is have a look in the bag and im busted.
We dont have a loft either so i cant stash it all up there.
Im hoping to be all bought and wrapped up by mid october - then i shall have to stay well away from the grabbit thread, to stop me spending more like last year.
That way in december we can do all those christmassy things like visit santa, check out all the houses in the area that are lit up instead of me rushing to buy last minute presents. Spend quality time visiting the family.
Just out of curiosity when do you all put your tree and decorations up?
Im usually itching to get them up on the 1st december, once i have seen 1 other person with their tree up that gives me a green light to do mine.
Although 1 year it did go up about the 20th november after my DS birthday party decorations had been taken down as the house looked so bare.
This will be our 1st christmas at home - i have always been to my mums and she has cooked dinner, but we have decided now that our own family is getting bigger that we want to spend it at home. Im panicking as i have never cooked a full christmas dinner before, im not the best person with roasts as it is. Plus i dont want too spend all day in the kitchen cooking i want to be with my kids, but DF has suggested that we just have a simple lunch like beans on toast, or pie & mash lol. But it just wouldnt be the same.
Decorations go up a few days before Christmas day somewhere between the 18th & 22nd.
We don't have our big cooked dinner on Christmas day, as we never have enough time to cook it, enjoy it and to do presents etc. We go to friends on Christmas Eve evening for a very large Christmas dinner. On Christmas day we have a buffet including Christmas cake in the evening we join friends for a birthday supper. We have our Christmas dinner on boxing day or the day after depending on when we are visiting OH's family. It means we have Christmas over many days.
Our colour scheme is green, red & gold with lots of ivy, holly from the garden (well sister garden)Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Its our first Christmas living together so I was eagerly anticipating the launch of the new Argos catalogue so that I could pick out our Christmas Tree, the one i've picked is their 1.8m/6ft Luxury Majestic Tree @ £49.99 but its not available until October
(I tried to post a link to it but I forgot that I can't do that! I've just signed up under a new name, I used to be Mini_money_saver)
I'm hoping it'll be just the right size
Can't wait to start my Christmas shopping in a few weeks!0 -
That tree is lovely, I rushed to get the new argos catalogue to have a christmas range but was really disappointed with the quantity of items, I swear when I was a kid there was pages and pages of christmas decorations in there. I'll just have to use the studio catalogue as my christmas !!!!!!, I never buy anything from there just get all excited... I could have a dolphin towel... with my name on it.... :j:j:j0
