not sure wine selling is regulated by FSA as an investment and these scumbags know it

  • I too have had several calls from the "Fine Wine Investment Company" and this time they were extremley rude and very very aggressive - when I said please please remove me from your list and I hung up - he called me straight back and told me quote - "I have 2 boxes for people like you - a box for winners and a box for losers" - then he hung up.

I have called their number (0203 236 0100) and complained to a lady who was very understanding. It was a very upsetting call, and if that had gone to another person God knows how it would have effected them being treated in this way.

Does anyone know who is the correct authority to complain to?

    Thank you.

I have had three cold calls from this company.

Personally I would only consider calls from wine companies if at room temperature.
However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts
  • European fine wines is run by so called "business man" Scott assemakis. The same man behind the property partnership, burn hill land investments and many other boiler room scams who are yet to come to light. Complaints are more than justified there has been many issues with this company, people paying margins upfront as high as 40% so when promised 14% how realistic is it especially when they buy 10-20% below market value. So 40 at the front 20 at the back where do I make this glorious return promised. To me it sounds another one of these get rich quick schemes for the owners and broker not for the investor. Or in other words another one of mr assemakis scams but a way of legitimising it..... Hopefully an fsa investigation will come out to save investors from more lies and fraud activity.

My budget doesn't stretch to Blue Nun (!), but a couple of cases of Red Bull works wonders...

A year or two ago, one of the "Apprentice" finalists wanted to launch a fine wines investment fund, if he'd won the partnerships deal with Lord Sugar. I wish he'd won it, as I'd loved to have seen how that went!

He went ahead and set up a wine company called "Cult Wines" which in its brief existence has already gained an unsavoury reputation. See posts 23-26 here for a brief discussion and links:

It's not the French government trying to sell you some of their wine collection is it?
