O2 Broadband & TopCashBack

I am currently with O2 broadband on their standard package paying £7.34 a month (after £5.00 discount as also mobile customer).
I have passed the 12 month mark so am now in the continuing rolling 30 day notice period to cancel if I wished to change.
I have tried twice recently through the retentions dept to gain a discount of more than the £2.50 standard reduction they seem to offer for resigning for another 12 months without any luck even after name dropping Bethere & previous O2 cashback offers with Quidco & TopCashBack to no avail.
TopCashBack now show a cashback for O2 Broadband with 2 months free on all packages, plus £50 cashback!
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/retailerdetailO2_Broadband.htm
It clearly states:
Please Note This cashback applies to new contracts and not upgrades.
Can I apply for this as an exisiting customer and start the new 12 month contract I was after to receive the cashback & free months or will it be rejected and what other problems could it cause with connection, existing free router etc. and contract?
Just wondering as it does not say it is solely for new customers, only for new contracts and not upgrades of which I would be starting a new contract and not upgrading.
Thanks in advance ...

In order to do this you would need to first give notice and cancel your existing contract and return the router.
Then start again. (They also make returning customeers wait 6 months before accepting them back)0
