Best way to spend £15 a month on mobile broadband?

My uni is offering me £15 a month to spend on mobile broadband, so I'm wondering what's the best offer for that amount? My course is for another 2 years.

I'm not sure my credit rating is good, although I'm on a contract with 02 so I could ask them what they could offer me. Otherwise I think it would have to be PAYG. Ideally with the smallest initial outlay possible.

Any advice please?

Prices are dropping on these dongles and deals so have a good look around.

I would give O2 a phone as they've always been good to me. At least check out their site and either go through Quidco https://www.quidco.com/o2/ or phone them (from your mobile) to see if they can do you a better deal.

    I know 3 have a deal on http://www.money.co.uk/broadband/broadband-details/Three/Mobile-Broadband-15GB-18-Month.htm

for 15gb for 15$ a month which seems like a great deal!?
  • My broadband is with Plusnet at £14.65 per month and am quite happy with it. This is where the problem is, my phone line is currently with BT. I hardly use it and even though my last bill was only 60p for calls ther'ye raising my direct debit from £12.50 to £17.50 per month. Does anyone know of any better deals than paying £32.15 per month as Im quite narked at BT.

I would recommend changing to Sky Broadband & Phone - you pay them £10 a month line rental and their broadband is £10 a month for upto 20MB speed and unlimited usage (or £15 a month if u dont take the line rental), £5 a month for upto 10MB speed and a 10GB monthly usage (or £10 a month if u dont take the line rental) and finally its free for upto 2MB speed and 2GB monthly usage (or £5 a month if u dont take the line rental).

I'm defo gonna go for this option as soon as my 3 Mobile Broadband ends - never will use their services again!

It sounds as if you are currently paying BT by Monthly Payment Plan where they estimate your monthly bill in advance instead of Whole Bill Direct Debit - where you pay the exact amount owing to BT each month/quarter (and which also prevents a 'credit' building up on your account)

You could also get a further reduction by taking online billing when your rental would be £11.50 a month.

    Heather,

PM me your home number and I'll check out why your direct debit is increasing.

    Thanks,
    Sean.

Herbertthehelper is right that, in terms of data allowance, £15/month for 15GB/month with Three is the best going. It is a 2 year contract but that seems fine for you. Via Quidco.com there is £100 cashback available, too.

However, if credit rating means pay-as-you-go is necessary, both t-mobile and 02 offer 30 day access for a £15 top-up and you can get a modem stick for very little (under £20) - (The O2 is available from Phones4u with £10 cashback on quidco.com at the moment - many similar offers available all over the place.)

Just a warning about 3. They have appalling customer service and if you have a problem it can be a living nightmare to sort out.
