New Bank Of Ireland Gold Card

Applied for last weekend, i have now heard i have just been accepted, apparently limit is 3k...

does anone know if i can bt my:

barclaycard £900 @ 0% + 6.9% life of balance
& nationwide card? £250 @16%
cap 1 platinum £200 @ 0% till aug
also does anyone know if they do online payments??

with the agrement i signed, it was intrest rates 0% for 9 months on bt
cash advance about 20% and normal purchase 0% for 3 months then about 11%

i calculated if i pay around £125 a month i should pay it all off by 9 months.

I have a BOI gold card - £3k is minimum limit on the gold card lol

Yes, when card comes you have to ring them to activate and state then that you want to do BT's - remember with BOI unless you bank with them you only have telephone access (similar to vanquis)....

p.s. I also had agreement and sent it back then got declined so await card before spending lol.... they do additional checks at time you return the agreement. I appealed and got it overruled so got the account (phew)

yea, my biggest complaint was the lack of online but after they put my limit back to the right amount (lol) i'll open a bank account then get online access. Pointless applying for a bank account til at least 6mth as they told me it'd be declined as they do not allow 2 app's in a 6 month period. Only if you apply for both in branch, at same time will this be allowed.....

Fancy the bank account - as the savings account pays well - and you can only open a savings account if you have a bank account.

exactly! I think it looks good! Just a word of warning - this is funny, BOI cards are NOT accepted by LaRedoute nor Next! Beat that!

Try and buy from Next, it kept declining me which is impossible when I had a £0 balance! Rung Next who said they don't take Irish cards - I told her to get real, its Mastercard but she said Irish banks cost a lot to process so they don;t take them...

Same excuse given by LaRedoute! In both cases I ended up using my citi gold card......

thanks for the heads up :P
got my pin today!!! :P im so excited £3000 now!!!
cant wait to get BTS on the move and all in 1 place, ill set up a dd then :P

what should i do with my old cards thou?

nationwide gold card £4550 all free after bt
    barclaycard platinum £1000 all free
cap1 platinum £400 all free (use day to day then pay off)
boi gold card £3000 limit £2750 free after my bts

my nationwide is longest running as i have had it 5 years and am a flex customer. so id like to keep it. should i keep them open and hope for offrs later on? or credit increases??? i keep them locked away so no temptation to use them.

i know this is a bit dodgy, could i say take £1400 from my barclay card to irish card as a bt, however there would only be 895 outstanding on it, so withdraw the £500 as cash and pay off my loan??? or could i cause problems??

LOL< your figures above just don't add up - sorry but cannot make sense of it! If you have empty balances and then you say after BT's you'll have £2750 left (i.e. £250 BT's is all you have) - then if you take £1400 you'd be using £1650 wouldn't you?

It just doesn't add up :confused::confused:

Bottom line is to do whatever is best! ATM withdrawals will cost you, they charge for each cash withdrawal plus interest will be charged (unless you're in credit) but you'd always pay the ATM fee.
