By the way, if you want to deter thieves in future you could try doing this. ;)

    Hi Jarla,

I have PM'd you but could you please contact me if you do not see that message.

I have received an email, via Neighbourhood Watch, that is from Bedfordshire Police. The email incudes a photo that was found on a stolen Sony camera and the Police are looking for the owner so they can give it back.

How random is that!! Please contact me if you can.

    Thanks.

For a compact you can't go wrong with the Canon Ixus range, always winning the labs and review tests. I keep one as a snap camera and works very well (and considering I normally do pro shoots with a DSLRs it's fair praise.)

For a "bridge" camera the Canon G9 or G10 are as good as it gets. Might get one for travelling...

DSLRs Canon and Nikon are easily the most flexible.

+1 for Canon G10 - bought myself one on Friday :D
Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
    Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying
