  • Well, Finally we have had contact from the CSA. Not from anymeans by the constant amount of times we've emailed/ called they have called off their own backs to partners work being very nasty to him!

Lady from the 'arreas' department started her call with "If you put the phone down i'll constantly call back, Then proceeded to say YOU have paid £200 less of your payments & i'm calling to let you know I am about to debit it off your card" I mean, Just how rude! I think he got very offensive at this point as I got a text from him asking me to go inline and transfer all his money out and he'll call me in a mo.. So i did..

Anyway, I think he bit back and had a bit of a go at her & said to 'try' if she wishes.. At that she just said that's fine we'll deduct it out of your next months wages & leave you with nothing! They do really hack me off! Just how do they get away with things like this

We've saved the money that they didn't take so it's no problem but it's principles now! I do not trust them enough to pay them £200odd now & then them only take their 'required' amount next month as I will bet my life that they still take the extra £200 (they have done it before) & being as our baby is due next month I just cannot even bare this to happen.

So, In short he's told them to re calculate his plan and take it from his next wage.. She was not happy at this and even more miffed when he asked them how much of his payments if for "carers allowance" :D

Can I ask how this works? He is on CSA1 His 2 children are 14 & 16 and his payments have never changed in the last 3 years?
  • Hi Cozzie1
I have never replied to a post before so please forgive me if I mess up. I joined this site on the debt free wannabe page due to massive financial probs caused by the CSA for my OH's child(ren) - he has 2 by his 1st wife. We have financially limped along making a payment of £ 360 pcm (CSA1 rules) for 1 child on a P60 wage of £ 22,500. We have been living for the day his daughter (who he has no contact with) turns 16 (September this year). When I was speaking to the CSA re: another matter and tried to clarify the removal of the carer premium, I was told that the payment does not go down by this amount when you report a change of circumstances at the 16th birthday date, but that this addditional amount is taken into account as disposable income and assessed against! When we found this out, we decided that the only way we could deal with our financial situation was to go for a DMP as we were not going to get the reduction in payment that we had assuemed we were for the lst few years.
    Hope that this makes sense.
If anyone has any info to the contrary, pleas let me know
To me, this is the owrst agency in the world which does no favours to anyone - either NRP, PWC or worst of all the children involved.
(you can tell it pees me off a little)

Is there csa arrears due? If so show them on your DMP as in Scotland csa arrears become uncollectable at time of sequestration so if that route is taken arrears are wiped
