Spanish mobile number question
Hi, I'm trying to send a text to this number in Spain:
+34-6872XXXXX
I keep getting failed delivery. I think it might be a landline number, which would explain the failed delivery. On the other hand I read somewhere that the 687 code is a Spanish vodafone prefix.
Anyone familiar with Spain's phone network? Thanks.

The network could be busy over there. On a lot of over seas networks if they're busy they just reject roaming and incoming none local traffic.0

I have used an ex Amena, now Orange Espana, PAYT sim for some years, The prefix is +34- 680 XXX XXX, I would say there's a very good chance the number you are texting is a mobile. If it fails on each text, there's a possibility it's not connected. Have you tried a couple of rings to the number to see if it works? Daft question but it may give a few answers.0 -

You can't send an overseas text - or call an overseas number for that matter, from a mobile using prefix 00, in all cases you will need to start the number with + (country code) and then the area code minus the leading zero if applicable and then the phone number.

It is Vodafone, unless it was ported to another network0

Yes, I have a house in Spain. Spanish mobiles begin with 6 and have the format 6nn nnnnnn and Spanish landlines begin with 9 and have the format 9nn nnnnnn or 9nn nnnnn.
As has been stated before, provided it hasn't been ported 687 nnnnnn is Vodafone Espana.
It could be a network problem. That happens here a bit, or maybe the mobile has been cut off/discontinued?0
