Ebuyer - advice needed urgently!

I just want to say that I am a happy Ebuyer customer, and that all my items have been delivered on the expected days.
My most recent delivery was yesterday.
The trouble is we only get to hear about the things that go wrong, which is probably a very small minority.
I have no connections with Ebuyer, apart from being a customer.0 -
Ebuyer have a bad rep throughout the internet, yet their prices are hard to beat.
If you don't mind waiting for your order and it works as described then use them.
If you want something in a hurry and want decent customer service if the goods are faulty then avoid like the plague.0 -
I have to say the things I ordered from ebuyer(DVD Rom and drive)actually arrived before they should have as they upgraded delivery from normal to express for no extra charge.
This was 6 weeks back before the xmas rush.
Everything is so slow arriving at the moment, just had 4 DVD's arrive today that I ordered from CD Wow2-3 weeks back for xmas pressies. So lots of last minute wrapping tonight.
Merry Christmas to all,we have spotted some fab bargains together these last few months.

Couldn't you just refuse the delivery when it eventually turns up, ??? ???
Then it would get returned to sender at no cost to you and they would have to refund your card. ;D
If you are going away, who will sign for it anyway, ??? ???You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't.0 -
I had an item that wasn't delivered on the specified date. The courier attempted delivery the day after when no one was in. Courier didn't answer phone so couldn't specify a new date, courier attempted second delivery when no one was in. After 2 attempted deliveries you can collect from the couriers depot - if you can't or don't want to go to the depot you can instruct the courier to return it to eBuyer - which they will anyway if you don't collect after a certain number of days.
I sent the item back and claimed a full refund via their phoneline when they had it - I stated that the problem was caused by their courier chosing not to answer their phone - also got them to agree to refund cost of phonecall.
Credit card statement showed only a refund for the item.
Sent an eNote reminding them they agreed to refund p&p and phonecall - slow response but did get full refund including cost of phonecall.
I'd send the thing back and ask for a full refund due to non delivery on specified date and their courier not answering the phone. You'll have to submit an eNote via their website and be patient - just give them a hard enough push.0 -
Personally never had problems with Ebuyer, but then I wouldn't order anything for delivery this close to Xmas, unless it was a guaranteed next-day service. Both Royal Mail and DHL have kept me waiting ages for items a couple of weeks ago and openly admitted they were "swamped".
As for returns I think we should accept the reason companies like Ebuyer, Aria and the other online suppliers are so cheap is because they have appalling customer service when you have a problem. I now take the view that if the price differential is only a few quid I buy from a shop that I can take it back to and shout at the management, or from someone like Empire (I know they're rubbish too) where you don't have to pay to return the item.
Good luck with Robosapiens

I buy from ebuyer a lot and have found that they do tend to miss the odd delivery date, (but only by a day) and most of the time it suits me if they do as I get the delivery charge refunded. I am stil very happy to use them though as they are just so cheap, I have two orders in at the moment, both to be delivered before christmas, but as stated in the previous post. if you really need something by christmas then you're better off going and getting it as the post is crazy at the moment!
In your situation, I think you should be able to return the good and get a full refund (possibly minus the carrier charge) as long as it goes back within a couple of weeks and is is perfect condition.0 -
I've got a Robosapien delivery for tomorrow from Ebuyer, had an e-mail to say it's been despatched and will arrive with me tomorrow from Citylink.
I best not get my hopes up then, was for a Christmas present too :-/0 -
Well, here's my two cents for what they're worth..
I work for a small IT company, and we've often had to purchase bits and bobs from eBuyer at late notice.. The delivery is [pricey to say the least - but for cables and small bits their prices are the lowest around..
Firstly, this year we have ordered 36 printers from them, all HPs and all full retail box jobbies.
All 36, as well as some digital cameras, came with European power cables. This wasn't a problem with most as it just meant hacking off the plug and fitting a 3-pin one. On some smaller models however, the plug is actually part of a transformer unit, so a replacement had to be bought at extra cost. 36 2-pin power cables is insane. It's clear to see how they keep their prices low - these are clearly not genuine UK stock... :-/
Initially we complained and got UK cables sent to us. Hilariously on each occasion we were told that 'as a gesture of goodwill' we would be allowed to keep the unwanted cables. Brill, just as soon as we open our power cable store in southern France we'll be laughing all the way to the bank.. ::)
Secondly they use City Link, who have their depots in the least convenient locations possible, with the sole exception of DHL whose nearest depot is over a 90 minute drive from here! That's just life I guess though, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who find City Link to be great. Kust not very handy living this far away as it means they always get here early afternoon, by which time everyone's out on calls..
Their customer service sucks beyond all belief - it takes around a week to get a flippant, useless answer which usually misses the point of the problem entirely. Like o2, ntl and 3, the prices are tempting but if anything ever goes wrong, you're up a well known creek without any kind of paddling instrument.
They're cheap, but you get what you pay for, and considering it's just a warehouse with a web front-end it does ean you're dealing directly with some very bored, disillusioned people who really couldn't care less about laptops, robotic dogs or UK power cables..
