domain hosting for email.

I have recently joined madasafish isp. I have had a .com domain for a few years now which I use for email mainly. I have had it hosted by lycos at a cost I think of 2.99 per month for 20 email boxes and 1000 mg web space. I never really used the web space and only use 3 email boxes on this domain.

Last month lycos automatically renewed my domain so is registered with them.


My package should have been up for renewal on the 3rd of this month but in the spirit of money saving I decided not to renew it and look for cheaper alternatives. I was hopin to somehow use my web space on madasafish and forego the free domain name if they could host my domain/email but apparently they can't host .com domains.

Anyway I was really worried I would be without email so made sure most of my stuff and contacts were given a web account I use BUT there have been no problems with email to my domain, I am still getting it.

I know some domain name registration packages will include some hosting of email but I didn't think lycos did and on reading the terms for registering a domain with them its not clear to me wheter they do or not.

Can any1 clear this up for me re:lycos and/or suggest any cheaper solutions for hosting my domain for email?

Hi Tabath,

I've never used this company for .com hosting - however I recently read a great article about it's founder:

www.godaddy.com

The pricing on the website looks good and this may be worth researching further.

Thanks to you both, I take a look see at both sites. Maybe I need to hire a lawyer to reas the lycos terms and conditions for me.lol
