Well actually, yes you can! There are a few acts that allow provision for cancellation under statutory laws not the companies own terms! For instance the DSR (although not relevant in this case), s.75 CCA and the Sale of Goods Act.

Bottom line is that if the OP never knew they were going for photos then it is misselling and they should be refunded and will be if they do a s.75; breach of agreement due to false description.

They say they haggled for a "portfolio".
My understanding is that a portfolio is a collection of photos, so how could they have not known there were photos involved?

Hello everyone. Im here jus to help and let you know the situations. Lovin studios is actually a photo studio and not a modelling agency. Models im sorry but you have been called in for no jobs - only to buy photos. Lovin Panchoo (director) is the guy who shows the photos at the end and he tells you that you have been called in for a job which is not real. He tells you to buy photos for around 1500 or more and then you will be guaranteed work which is a lie. There is no job as it is not a modelling agency. People are found on starnow.co.uk and fake adverts are put up to call you in. Then Lovin Panchoo will charge you for a portfolio and tell you are selected for a job - this is a lie as there never has been jobs.

Lovin Models has never ever provided work for anyone as it is not real.

Lovin studios is for makeovers to people enering competitions. Everyone wins there are no losers unless you end up going to the studio and get scammed into purcahsing £1000's worth photos. The deposit they take on the phone is not refundable like they say - it changes to redeemable when you turn up for the shoot. If you read the terms and conds on website then you can see. This will never be given back to you. They are not working with cosmo or GMTV. People who win the gmtv comp please contact gmtv as they will verify that this is NOT real!! Do not be a victim of con artists - research a company before you attend and do not give card details over the phone unless you know who they are.

Hi guys, just like yourselves my sister was also a victim of this and ended up spending £1500!!!!

I am so glad there are forums like this to expose such companies. But remember one thing guys... I was browsing through forums and read that when you write something, you can freely express yourself but there are certain things you can't mention ie names of individuals. I think because Lovin Panchoo is the owner of the company and "Lovin Models" and "Lovin Studios" is the name of the agency we can mention his name, but we can't mention anyone else.

So, incase they try getting this forum reported, just copy and paste your messages again and remove any names if you mentioned them...don't let them remove this forum...because I noticed there were many other forums which they had removed from other sites!!!

Update: I just checked this sites t&c...and you cant mention names of people....so definitely just copy and paste your messages again but without names this time.

Wannabees and their money are soon parted.

Many are like X Factor and Pop Idol rejects - their parents and friends should have told them 'You're wasting your time, you'll never make it in the singing/modelling industry...get a proper job'

Sadly it seems that many parents today tell their kids things like 'You can do anything you want to do and be a great success at it'...which is a load of tosh [wrt modelling/singing]

Many of the people that fall for this scam KNOW deep down inside that they're being scammed but they are so desperate to "be famous" that they can blank it out enough to hand over the cash...and then 2 weeks later admit to themselves they've been scammed.

So some words for most aspiring wannbees...you're ugly and you can't sing [and quite often can't even spell], your mum is lying to you, and above all else, don't give your money to strangers.

Such is life! People are always easily parted with their cash and other people will always prey on it.

It's like over-feeding your dog. A human condition many people can't help. Best to let people get on with their lives but it's always worth telling them they are responsible for their actions and not to blame someone/anyone else.

Yes we know that Lovin panchoo is the owner. Hena is the manager and John head of marketing. Jessica makeup artist and from previous threads saher, danny, mo, kamran, are call center!! I believe they all got sacked by lovin though since i last spoke to the new call center people about why my photos were so crappy quality. They really dont have a clue. The word professional is not something they know the meaning of!
