Hi catkitkat
thanks for your post- it made me realise I have the same problem (not the pnd), just 3 children to bring up with a wife who does not have any spare time to work.
I hope it goes ok, but please let me know

can i just say, what does it matter if debtfreedirect do take a fee?? your iva is payed for 5 years at a set payment that is scrutinised through your I&E, if you can get a cheaper deal elsewhere it is likely your iva will fail as everything has to be done properly you cannot take shortcuts when doing an IVA, incedently , i have been with a fee charging company on a DMP for two years and they are doing a far better job than cccs did, the cccs are funded by your creditors and as a result dont get interest and charges stopped (why would they!), each to their own but i feel the service i get with my Debt Management company is more than worth the fee they charge.0

triple08, a lot of the commercial companies like DFD ask for monies in advance, to do the work to submit the IVA and if it does not get accepted, you don't get it back. Take your car for a service, pay £250 up front and the guy comes back afterwards and says that nothing to do, but thanks for the cash
All ISPs take a fee, its their job after all, and I totally agree with you, I would rather pay extra and receive a better service, that is what is important to me, and with somethinglike an IVA, the aftercare during the 5 years is vital, and I hear and read a lot of people say Debt Free Direct simply don't care after they have you tied in. And asking for cash in advance for this type of work, well there are a lot of stunningly good people out there that don'tThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
Those that do
