Recommend me a router please?

Urgh Belkin N1 - nasty and whats worse there is no way of getting line stats out of them for troubleshooting purposes either - pap!
For my first line support I sell preconfigured Zyxel routers and if people want direct 1st line support they have to use one of those and they're pretty good pieces of kit.
TBH the speedtouch's you're referring to were often crippled by said ISPs so it wasn't Thomsons fault per se.
I've always found the wireless on the Getnears and Belkin to not quite be up to the same standard as the Zyxel and Speedtouch (not that the Speedtouch is that much better but..)
Just depends on what particular features the OP decides they want.
My personal fav used to be Draytek ahhh the good old days of the vigor 2600 shame they seem to have lost the plot a bit lately tho0 -
If I am not mistaken, AOL gave out Netgear wireless routers that had 4 wired ports. You do not have to use it wireless! Have you checked it?

Yup, my aol wireless router is the speedtouch 576. One port for a cable, otherwise wireless, but thanks anyway.

Thanks for all your insight guys, don't ya just love this forum
.
I think I will go with the netgear dg843. It's not the G version that people mentioned- that's a wireless one, this is wired only. TBH as all the pc's/xboxes play online games I don't see us going down the wireless router line for a while yet and the ethernet cables are all "plumbed in" already so there's no real advantage.
This one sound ok, and I've done a few searches of forums to se if it comes up a lemon, but none so far. Does anyone know this one might be a mistake?
Thanks again,
MrsB.
Oh and my dying router is a speedtouch 510. I've had no probs with it for over 5 years and can't really fault it until now so how's that for a different view on speedtouches

Almost all routers now are wireless, but generally have 4 ports to use with ethernet connections if you wish. You can get a Netgear DG834G for £20 on eBay, so not really any point in getting a wired router these days. In a year's time you may want to hoook up a laptop wirelessly so at least have the wireless option available. No free lunch, and no free laptop
