"Back to work" session - anyone know anything about them?

I would just like to say I am a very hard working individual having worked for myself for 4 years and loosing my business due to having a theif of a business partner.
I have found the job centre to be very un helpful. Not paying me my full claim. Not sending out forms they promised to send out. I find the people working there rude and arrogant with the exception of one guy. They seem to forget they work for us and they walk around looking down their noses at the customers who are looking for work. I'm sure some individuals use the system for free money but they dont need to stereotype everyone. On reflection I think they are a total waste of space and haven't helped one bit.0 -

Let's hope the car deals aren't that slow.0 -

I've a couple of questions, has anyone been on one/know what they're about? Just wondering what to expect.
And does everyone on benefits who doesn't have a full time job have to go on these or is it just a "jobseekers" thing?
I'm expecting an hour of being patronised interspersed with plenty of stating the bleeding obvious.
are you at around 13 weeks of claiming since your last job or the last time your were on a course? it sounds like what i had to do at around 13 weeks. there was about 15 other people in the room and we were all sat round a table. at the end of the table a job centre person waffled on about different ways of jobseeking for about 30 to 40 minutes. we were then allowed to go. so it is pointless but painless.
after 6 months you will have to see an advisor one on one regularly for 6 months. how often i dont know but for me it is looking like once a month. after that you will be refered to flexible new deal. i dont know a whole lot about that. what i do know from what i have read is you are on flexible new deal for 12 months. you spend 4 weeks on a work placement and the rest of the time seeing an advisor. how often depends on the advisor. the flexible new deal is outsourced from the jobcentre to a private company.0 -
